The Arena Tournament

Seasonal brackets fought to the yield in ten arenas, each of which reshapes the fight.

A seasonal single-elimination bracket on the world’s calendar. Signups open for 24 hours; entrants are seeded, byes pad the draw to a power of two, and each match is a duel in the arena, fought to the yield and never the grave. A match not played live within 6 hours of its round is settled by a combat simulation using the fighters’ real gear and class, so the bracket always finishes and a no-show never stalls it.

Three shapes

A 1v1 bracket; a team battle of two balanced teams; a clan war with teams by clan. In the team shapes every fighter acts alone, no party and no leader, and the last team standing takes it.

The arenas

  • the Duelist's Ring: A plain sand circle — no cover, no tricks. Just two fighters and the crowd.
  • the Gladiator Pit: A cramped 3-by-3 killing floor. Nowhere to run, nowhere to kite — steel meets steel at once.
  • the Colosseum: A grand ring strewn with broken pillars — cover enough to break a bowman's line, room enough to maneuver.
  • the Killing Fields: A vast open battlefield. Distance is a weapon here — skirmishers and spellslingers rule the long game.
  • the Crumbling Span: A narrow stone bridge over a lake of fire. The longer you fight, the more it crumbles — end it before the span gives way beneath you.
  • the Warded Sanctum: A rune-scored hall where wild magic churns — elemental flares and anti-magic pulses turn every exchange into a gamble.
  • the Raging Rapids: Two rafts loose on a white-water torrent. Keep your balance as the current pitches you — |wbrace|n to steady, |wrock|n to unbalance your foe or stave in their hull. Topple them, sink them, or cut them down. (Rafts bear little weight — light, ranged arms rule.)
  • the Endless Battlefield: A sprawling open field stretching past the horizon. Distance is measured in bowshots — cavalry-run kiting, artillery duels, and no cover to hide behind. (Line length is scalable for grand melees.)
  • the Twin Forts: Two facing strongholds across a contested field — the arena form of a castle-vs-castle siege (full siege mechanics to come). Hold the ground between the forts and break the foe.
  • the Sundered Pillars: A cavern of stone pillars jutting from a lake of magma — no floor, no exits, only the pillars. Each crumbles on its own clock: |wjump|n to another before yours drops, and fight across the gaps as you go. Watch your footing or the lava takes you.

Win it all for gold, a naming token and the title Arena Champion.
