Fey

How it fights

A caster is dangerous at a distance and considerably less so once you have closed. It spends the opening of a fight making the ground between you expensive to cross, and if it is allowed to keep that distance it will simply keep spending. Reaching it is the whole fight. What happens after you arrive is usually brief.

Field notes

The fey are met at edges, wood and water, dusk and dawn, and they are met on their terms. They watch a long time before they show, and they show for a reason. A ring of pale grass, a tree grown into an arch, a stone that is warm on a cold morning: those are doors, and the fey are the doorkeepers. What they say is true and it is never all of it.
