How it fights
A predator fights like something that has done this before and expects to again. It opens carefully, watches what you do with the first exchange, and commits only when the answer suits it. Nothing about it is overwhelming and nothing about it is forgiving either: it will take any opening you leave, and it is patient enough to wait for one rather than make its own.
Field notes
The great serpents keep to warmth and cover and lie along the routes small things use, which is often the routes people use. One coiled with the head raised has seen you; one coiled with the head down has not yet. They strike from farther than the length suggests and they do not strike twice at the same target if the first was enough. A shed skin whole in the grass means one is near and newly hungry.

Met in Quiet Vault, Pillared Precinct of Northern Reach, the Broken Bastion, Broken Citadel, Shrine of Northern Reach, Sworn Keep of Northern Reach, the Quiet Fields and Cold Crypt of Southern Marches, by travellers of levels 1 to 5.
