The world keeps two clocks and one calendar.
THE HOURS. A day of Eldermere is two real hours; time tells you the phase (dawn, day, dusk, night), the hour, the moon, and whether it is too dark to see without a light. Summer runs its light long and Winter runs the Long Dark, so the festival you stand in is legible from the sky.
THE DAYS. The week has seven days and the pantheon has eight gods, and the arithmetic is the calendar's one line of theology: Morvath the Grave-King keeps no day of the week, only the last of every life. The seven that remain are named for what each god keeps:
Day of the Dawn Aurel, Life and Light (the week opens) Day of the Green Sylvane, Wilds and Growth Day of the Banner Draegar, War and Dominion Day of the Veil Ysvane, Arcane and Mystery Day of the Forge Durgan, Forge and Making Day of the Hunt Vhael, Primal and Wild Day of the Scales Kastor, Order and Justice (the week closes)
THE MONTH. Every month runs the same course: the clan season turns and the Spire resets on the 1st, the card meet takes the 8th for a week, the war muster (Winds of Fate, Tides of War, the Sundered Span, the arena) rises on the 15th, and at the turn of each season (March, June, September, December) the festival takes the 21st for seven days. time names the day and gives the day of the month; the Hall of Lore's calendar shows the year ahead in your own timezone, and its subscribe link puts the festivals into whatever calendar you actually read.
