The Card Meet and the Stake

The monthly meet is the only door to a pantheon card; the stake at any table is what keeps the deck alive.

Every regular month the card meet takes the week from the 8th, and its prize is a pantheon card: a different god each time in a fixed rotation (Aurel, Sylvane, Draegar, Ysvane, Durgan, Vhael, Kastor, Morvath), so a full pantheon takes exactly one year and a god missed waits a year to come round again. Pantheon cards are in no drop table and no shop; the meet is the only door.

The solstice meets

The four festivals hold the larger meets, dearer to enter (1200 against 500) and paying a worldlord card drawn from the season’s own pool: the creatures whose element belongs to that turn of the year.

  • Spring: the Greening — the Spring Meet
  • Summer: the High Sun — the Summer Meet
  • Harvest: the Reaping — the Harvest Meet
  • Winter: the Long Dark — the Winter Meet

The stake

Between meets the game is played for keeps wherever somebody will sit down: win and you take the strongest card they fielded, lose and you lose the weakest tradeable card you fielded, a spare first and out of the codex only if you had no spare. Cards leave circulation every time somebody plays for stakes, and that is the economy.
