The Arena Tournament, and the smaller brackets beside it.

A tournament is a seasonal single-elimination bracket on the world's calendar. Signups open for a day; entrants are seeded, byes pad the bracket to a power of two, and each match is a DUEL in the arena. tourney shows the status and your next match, tourney bracket the draw, tourney join enters the lists, tourney fight begins your match with both fighters in the Grand Arena, tourney watch takes a seat in the stands.

DUELS ARE FOUGHT TO THE YIELD, not the grave: the loser yields at zero, is healed, and both walk out; no corpse, no lost experience. A match not played live before its round closes is settled by a combat simulation using your real gear and class, so the bracket always finishes and no-show never stalls it. Win it all for gold, a naming token and the title Arena Champion.

THREE SHAPES. A 1v1 bracket; a TEAM BATTLE, two balanced teams; a CLAN WAR, teams by clan. In team and clan battles each fighter acts alone, no party and no leader, friendly fire off, last team standing. THE ARENAS reshape the fight: the Gladiator Pit is point-blank with no kiting, the Killing Fields reward range, the Crumbling Span collapses if you dawdle, the Warded Sanctum churns with wild magic. Some bouts bar outside consumables entirely, so the fight is decided by skill rather than by who hoarded potions; only the arena's own kit is allowed there.

CANCELLATION. If a Keeper calls a bracket off, any live duel is broken cleanly and its fighters released; nothing staked on the bracket is lost, because nothing is staked on it but the prize.

THE CARD TOURNAMENT is a different table (help cards): three rounds against the field, and the ONLY source of a pantheon card.
