Gloamgrove

Gloamgrove is the camp under the bracket canopy, twelve cells from the Deepfall road, where the great fungal shelves grow storey on storey and the dark farms its own harvest. It began as a picking camp and became a town the way deep places do: one season nobody left. The grove feeds a surprising fraction of the underworld, and its growers hold the deep's oldest practical wisdom about the Spore Deeps' kin: what grows in the dark is generous, patient, and keeping count. Gloamgrove's lamps are hooded by law, its voices low by habit, and its answer to the visitor who asks why is the same answer it has always been: the canopy sleeps light.
