Denizen

Spirit

A translucent spirit, features only half formed, the lower body trailing away into nothing.

How it fights

A caster is dangerous at a distance and considerably less so once you have closed. It spends the opening of a fight making the ground between you expensive to cross, and if it is allowed to keep that distance it will simply keep spending. Reaching it is the whole fight. What happens after you arrive is usually brief.

Field notes

The spirits keep to where they were made: a battlefield, a hearth, a crossing, a room where a thing was done. They are seen at the edge of sight and gone when looked at, and they are heard more than seen. Cold that has no source and a candle that leans away from nothing are their weather. They want a thing they cannot say, and the wanting is what a watcher feels first.
