How it fights
A tank does not kill you. It outlasts you, which from the far side of an hour turns out to be the same thing. Edges dull on it and it is in no hurry whatsoever. What it takes from you is patience and every consumable you thought to bring; fights like this end when somebody runs out, and it has nothing left to run out of.
Field notes
An ooze is found by what it has eaten: a passage swept clean of everything but the metal, coins and buckles lying in a line where the thing has moved on. It follows the damp and the low ground and pools where a floor dips, and it can wait there long past a watcher's patience. Cold slows it and it will not cross a fire's ash. If it is quiet in a place that should have rats, look at the floor.
What it leaves
