Hag

How it fights

A caster is dangerous at a distance and considerably less so once you have closed. It spends the opening of a fight making the ground between you expensive to cross, and if it is allowed to keep that distance it will simply keep spending. Reaching it is the whole fight. What happens after you arrive is usually brief.

Field notes

A hag keeps a house, and the house is where you would not look: a hut in the reeds, a cave behind the falls, a cottage that was not there last time. She knows the country and its people better than they know themselves. She trades, and the trade is always worse than it sounds. She is old past reckoning and strong past her looks, and the looks are chosen.
