Fighter, The Warrior.
Steel and discipline. No god's gift, no arcane trick: only the sword, the shield, and the will to outlast every foe. Durable, straightforward, forgiving, and the surest first path.
THE CANON. The Fighter's road is the FREE COMPANIES: the companies that held the onslaught's line and were disbanded unpaid by the treaty, three centuries ago, and have not stopped drilling since. Sergeant Brakka wears their buttons polished bright and drills recruits on ground nobody granted her, keeping the last standing order the way a lamp is kept. Fighters are made, not born, she says. Made on the count.
THE HEADQUARTERS. The Fighter's story lives where its mentor stands: Sergeant Brakka, at the plaza of Highreach. Eight chapters, one every five levels from 5 to 40, chained in order and told by no one else (see help class quests). Draegar, Kastor and Durgan favour the calling.
ROLE Warrior. PRIME STAT Strength. MANA none.
WHAT YOU LEARN, AND WHEN. skills fighter lists every skill of the calling by the level it opens; spells fighter every spell the same way. The topic teaches the command; the command carries the data, so it is never out of date. abilities and spells show what you hold now, and skills list / spells list what your current class has still to teach you.
