Denizen

Merfolk

A merfolk figure with a scaled lower body and finned forearms, hair floating as if still underwater.

How it fights

A caster is dangerous at a distance and considerably less so once you have closed. It spends the opening of a fight making the ground between you expensive to cross, and if it is allowed to keep that distance it will simply keep spending. Reaching it is the whole fight. What happens after you arrive is usually brief.

Field notes

The merfolk keep to the deep water and the drowned places and come up to see the boats, and to sing, and to take what falls overboard. They can be watched from a headland at dusk if the sea is calm. They are not one people and not one temper, and the ones that come to the shallows are the ones the deep sent. Wet stone above the tide line with no wave to wet it is where one has sat.
