The world is written in roles, and you choose what colour each role wears.
A ROLE is what a thing is: room.exit, combat.hit, chan.trade, vitals.hp. The game never paints a colour directly, it paints a role, and your settings decide what that role looks like on your screen. colors shows where you stand with a preview; colors show lists every role with its default, your override and what you actually get.
SCHEMAS are whole schemes at once. colors schema default is the house palette and resets everything. contrast lifts the dim wording for anyone who found the greys hard to read (and the contrast rule the game keeps for itself: nothing you must read is ever written in the dim colour). app is for the iPad client under Apple's theming, where raw white washes out in light mode and inverts badly, so wording rides the client's own foreground and the accents keep to hues that survive both appearances. colorblind moves the red and green axes to magenta and cyan, a pair that survives the common deuteranopia and protanopia, so hit and miss and full and empty stay tellable apart.
YOUR OWN. colors set <role> <colour> recolours one role (colors set room.exit cyan); colors set <group> <colour> does a whole group at once: combat, room, channels, info, vitals, games. colors reset [role] drops an override or all of them. colors save <name> keeps the scheme you have built, two slots at most, and colors schema <name> brings a saved one back; colors drop <name> forgets it. colors themes shows the reading themes and the send diagnostics for anyone whose client is not showing colour at all.
