The Spire: an endless stair, two legs, one attempt a month.
The Spire is the measuring stick. It climbs floor on floor, each deadlier than the last, and where you stopped is your standing for the month; the top asks for the best gear the world has, and doing it fast asks you to play your class properly. It resets on the 1st with the clan season, and the highest floor is crowned at month's end, per leg.
TWO LEGS. The SOLO leg is 130 floors for one climber: mostly a single tough foe a floor (a lone climber walled by packs is not a contest), packs of two at most, the foes capped at level 30, and a beatable BOSS at the summit; the crown is the title Spirewalker, 50,000 gold and a naming token. The PARTY leg is the full 250 floors for three to five: full scaling to level 50, real packs that split the aggro, and a Warden of world-boss rank at the summit scaled to the party's size; Conqueror of the Spire, 100,000 gold and two tokens. The two are ranked separately, by highest floor, ties broken by fewer deaths and then faster time.
SAFE FLOORS heal you and revive fallen party members: at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, then 65, 80, 95, 110, 125, and on the party leg 150, 175, 200, 225 and 250. Between them there is no mercy; a total wipe ends a party's run.
ONE ATTEMPT PER LEG EACH MONTH: win, fall or leave, that is your run. spire shows your standing on both legs, spire enter begins or resumes a solo climb, spire party a party climb (the leader, with the members present), spire continue presses on from a safe landing, spire leave steps off the stair and banks your best floor, spire ranks [solo|party] is the leaderboard. The stair is climbed from the Spire Stair in Karan Reach's temple quarter, and the Summer festival's Spire Sprint scores the same climb against the clock.
